A Leopard Love In
The leopard print and I have had a lusciously long relationship. Way back in the dark ages when I was a womenswear buyer, we did a whole 'wildcard' buy on animal print which flew off the shelves. We couldn't get it back in fast enough, literally, the merchandisers had to sell their souls to get more. So you can imagine how happy I was when it popped back up last year and is back on this season.
I already have two leopard print coats so I am trying not to purchase any more of those, I also have some ridiculously high leopard shoes and flats, but am very tempted by the H&M camel, leopard print boots the perfect height and good price (£34.99), its going to happen. I have been living in my H&M leopard print baggy pants and am the proud new owner of a leopard sweat top, too much??!
Here are the leopards I love so far....
Gestuz- £150 Up there with my top 5 buys this summer, I think Gestuz have nailed it when it comes to ease and sass. I threw on a chunky belt, it comes with a thinner one in the same fabric, which I also like, fashion week in Copenhagen went with the no belt option and it looked awesome.
Lily and Lionel - £199 Stunning and so easy to wear, teamed with a pair of flats, trainers, or red boots. I love the fine print Lily and Lionel have created for this and the paler more blue grey colour. With the pinched wrists and ruffled front detail, a floating beauty.
Ganni jumpsuit- £210 I loves me a jumpsuit and this one is no exception. The tie waist is right up my street, pair with red or black heels and sassy little black jacket and you're out out.
Zara - £29.99 LOVE, love. Such beautiful detail with the studs. Great size, big enough for essentials. Right now, cross the body, are my favourite kind of bags. Bang on Z, will there ever be a chink in your armour??!
Monki £20 - Eye eye cutie...This little ruffled sleeve number is a winner. Teamed with some blue denim, strappy sandals, black jacket, a great and cost effective way to nail this trend.
Raid kitten heels - £29.00
Kittens are back, kicks 30 year old self for getting rid so many! I had a mountain of them. These lovelies are elegant and don't look like they are going to make my bunions any worse either! win win!
Ganni Sabine printed suede - £235.00 If you've a tad more cash to splash then these absolute treasures are for you. I mean, 'you had me at the bow'...did you get it??! I am so happy with that line!! But come on, that bow on the sling is edible. Net-a-Porter have smashed the styling out the park as per usual, just click on link.
Zara - 25.99 Never mind leopard print, the Z dog has only gone and put actual leopards on their shirt of course! They've gone navy stripe, which I love, because it's softer and less harsh than black.
Ganni leopard print silk blend satin maxi - £440 It's the last dress, I swear, but this vision is just a thing of beauty. Those clever clogs at Net-a-Porter have styled it as above, but also over jeans which I haven't done since the 1990's I'm pretty tempted now, just saying....
H&M Jacquard weave coat khaki green - £49.99 So I am on a self ban for a 3rd leopard print coat, but if I wasn't this would be CJG's first port of call. I love its oversize and the sheen of the fabric, a great finish and alternative to its thicker, furrier leopard printed coat cousins.
H&M jersey trousers - £12.99 I don't quite know how to convey my love for these, rest assured they have been worn beyond worn all summer and I have just ordered a second pair. I am not sure there is a woman alive (or man actually) that they wouldn't suit.
So there you have it, my little leopard collection. So go forth, unleash your inner Bette Lynch. Set free the Pat Butcher inside, but in a really lovely way! There's leopard in abundance so take your pick. The end of the hols is nearly upon us (does leaping splits in the air Fame style) before we know it, it'll be Christmas... oh no wait a minute we've a 3 WEEK half term first! I'll be ready for them by then, I love them really...!
